Greetings to 40 years of PW Mini Alumni!!
Remember those grade 12s you worshipped and secretly followed around as a grade 8 peon at the Mini? Do you ever wonder happened to them? Do you ever have the urge to apologize to the Mini teachers you made blush on a regular basis or begged relentlessly for extra marks?
What about finally finding out the truth behind the Mini tunnels?
Or maybe you simply want to catch up with people you shared some laughs with in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, or just last year....and support the longest running Mini School in BC!
Whatever the reason, now’s your chance!
Alumni, students, parents & staff of Prince of Wales Mini School are throwing a “party to end all parties” at the Mini on Saturday June 22, 2013, doors open at 4:30pm.
All Minis and Staff since 1973 are hereby invited to celebrate PW Mini’s 40th Anniversary!! Every Mini who’s ANY Mini is going to be there so SAVE THE DATE! Due to space limitations this event is one ticket per Mini.

If you’re on Facebook, LIKE our 40th Anniversary page NOW to receive updates, start reconnecting with old classmates, and un-tag yourself in embarrassing pictures we post from Strathcona or the Halloween dance! Help us spread the word and get to 500, 600 or even 700+ Fans, by sharing our Page with Minis that you’re friends with on Facebook. Let’s make sure our 40th will be a massive Mini Mash-up to remember!
Tickets
Tickets will be sold on-line starting in April 2013. We’ll be sending you a link to buy tickets via email. Tickets will also be available on our Facebook page and our swanky website www.pwminischool.com.
BBQ Highlights
The 40th Anniversary party will feature a tasty catered BBQ, cash bar, door prizes, birthday cake and many other elements to surprise and delight!
If you own a bakery, brewery, grocery store, etc., now would be an excellent time to tell us. We'll acknowledge your donations with high praise on our Facebook page. Donated door prizes will also be gleefully accepted and recognized.
Photos, Video & Memorabilia
We’re busy putting together an unforgettable multi-media 40-year retrospective. Be prepared to be taken on a soulfully nostalgic trip down memory lane via slide shows, video presentations and (short, we promise) speeches.
But we need your help. Dig out your grainy old Mini photos or your crisp digital ones, as the case may be, and send to photos@pwminischool.com. Send us your videos too (Arts night, grad videos, random mini productions).
Let us know if you have any Mini memorabilia to display at the party. Artifacts such as old newsletters, T-shirts, posters, 'mini' yearbooks, awards, poetry journals and other school projects. Yes, people will find this old stuff fascinating and possibly hilarious.

PW Mini Legacy Fund
You will get a chance to give back to the little school that provided you with great memories, profound learning moments, and hopefully LEGENDARY stories to tell (or perhaps the Mini was your safe haven and the only the reason you stayed in school?). Here comes the serious bit....
We’ve launched a bursary program as part of a new PW Mini Legacy Fund. Why? Expenses for our Mini trips have steadily increased (our fees are now about $800 per student per year). Our school is at risk of being beyond the financial reach of many deserving student applicants whose lives would be fundamentally changed by the extraordinary PW Mini experience, where learning takes place outside the classroom as much as inside.
Diversity is a founding principle of our school and we want every student in Vancouver to have a chance to spend high school with our exceptional teachers and 150 of the best young minds around. But don’t worry, we’re not asking for any money yet, that comes later!
Missing Minis
URGENT: Help us find the MISSING MINIS and there are lots of them. With over 1,200 minis including those who left before grad, it’s been a monumental task just finding people.
Below is a list of missing minis from your era. Please forward this email to people on the list, and tell them to send us their email addresses so they don’t miss out!
